How we use your information

We use your information in a number of different ways but please note we do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes in our work.

How we use your name and contact details

We want you to know about Learner Dad activities that we think are relevant to you. We will send you information about any event you have booked to attend.  If you book an event directly through Learner Dad, we want to make it easy for you to find your way to the venue, at the right time and on the right date, and to know what the event is about. We want to find out your views and opinions on events and activities. We have a commitment to gathering your views to inform our work, and will sometimes ask for your views on specific issues – but we won’t share your details unless you say we can.

Your responses to surveys, competitions and feedback forms

We will process your details if you enter any competitions we run.  It’s necessary for us to do this to fulfil our commitment to you, our members and partners to offer the best services possible.

Your engagement with us

If you are involved in one of the Learner Dad Community activities, forums, or other projects it is helpful for you and us to have notes on your engagement securely stored, for a limited period, in our database.

To provide reports to sponsors and partners in order to maintain our collaborations and seek new partnership support for the delivery of our services, we must provide reports on our activity, which may include details of individuals’ engagements with us. We will never name anyone in these reports without their consent.

Photography and film

If you are attending or are involved in one of the Learner Dad community activities / events, it may be helpful for you and us to photograph and/or film your engagement with the initiative. We will only use photography and/or film with your consent.

Communications and marketing purposes

In order to let people know about the work we do, we sometimes record events using photography and/or film. We will always explain how we intend to use any photography and/or film for publicity purposes, and will only do so with your consent. The length of time that any images or films are held for will be specified in the individual consent forms and they will not be used beyond this period.

Third parties

We use a limited number of third party applications to carry out our work. These include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tiktok, Twitter (X), Survey Monkey and Mailchimp. We check the privacy policies of all third parties we work with, and review this on an annual basis, to check they are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations.

Retention of data

We will hold the personal data you provided us for a limited period if you are involved in one of Learning Dad’s community projects/events, workshops, webinars, or CSR activities.  For those involved in Learner Dad activities, this time period will relate to the requirements of the activity, but will be no longer than 2 years after the completion of the activity. The length of time that any images or films are held for will be specified in individual image consent forms and they will not be used beyond this period.
